The West Michigan CoOp is Retiring
To all of our past and present dedicated members and producers, the West MI CoOp would like to say thank you for all of your support and dedication over the years. At the ripe old age of 11, we have decided to close our doors after June pickup of this year. While this is sad news, we feel that the declining sales and lack of participation are a sign of some good news in our local food system. The ability of West Michigan foodies to access great local goods has boomed, which was always one of our major goals.
For the months of May and June it will be business as usual, so please continue to support your favorite CoOp producers. During these last two shopping cycles we will not be collecting membership fees or surcharges. We will also be handing out information on other sources where you can still find those great local products. During the June pickup we also hope to have a celebratory party to show our thanks to its members who have brought us this far!
Thanks again for all of your support,
The West Michigan CoOp Board
